The Mini Accessory every working woman must carry
On a day-to-day basis the only accessory I can’t live without at the office is my mini crossbody bag. I wear it every day for two main reasons, first it holds two iPhones which is essential when running to meetings. No longer am I forced to choose between carrying my personal or work phone, I take both!
Second, is having a place to clip my security badge onto. This is essential when wearing a dress or any outfit lacking belt loops. Wearing a security badge around one’s neck is without exception an absolute fashion faux pas. Don't care if it's be dazzled, don't do it!
I get a lot of questions about this little bag and I’m happy to see that it’s caught on with some ladies at the office, however, I have witnessed a few mistakes.
Here’s what you need to know when hunting for your mini crossbody bag
The bottom of the bag must be flat for maximum capacity. Don’t get confused. This is not a wallet on a chain. Those are v-shaped made for holding credit cards and cash, not phones.
Get a quality bag. One of the gals at the office bought one for $10 bucks and it lasted 3 days. This is something you will use every week day. It should be well made, and you should love looking at it!
The mini bag should be just that, "mini" about 6 inches wide. Anything more than 7 inches looks like a purse and may look out of place. Instead of attending a meeting your colleagues may think you are on your way out or arrived to the office late and didn’t have time to put away your purse.
Find the right proportion to your size and height. The length should hit at the hip, if it's too short it doesn't look right.
Try a bag with a chain, it looks a little fancier and will go well with your business attire.
After searching high and low I found this Ralph Lauren Crossbody at Bloomindale’s a couple of years ago. I can carry two iPhones, ID, credit card and a pen.
The good news is there are many more options today since mini bags are now trending. Search for mini Crossbody bags or phone Crossbody bags. Here are a few suggestions Style Cliques approved...
